Angry Birds Trilogy Review

It was only a matter of time. Rovio’s pushed its bird-slinging, billion-selling mega-franchise onto nearly every mobile device possible, aling with web browsers, social media websites, PC operating system and probably even some kitchen appliances. Angry Birds is absolutely the most prolific game design since, I don’t know, Tetris – so it’s no surprise the franchise has made its way on to the Big 3’s machines.

For Microsoft, it’s the Xbox 360. For Sony, the PlayStation 3. And for Nintendo, you’d guess the Wii – but no. For Nintendo it has gone portable instead, showing up on the 3DS. But it’s not just Angry Birds by itself – it’s Angry Birds Trilogy, collecting the original mobile game, its follow-up Angry Birds Seasons and the film tie-in Angry Birds Rio (the relevance of which has far outlasted the movie it licensed). All three of these games contain all of the free bonus updates and level packs that have been released for their mobile editions over the years (totaling over 600 stages) and can now be yours on console for the “low” price of 40 bucks.
