Ultimately no correlation between consuming video games and gun murders was found, despite the common misconception being that the more a population enjoys video games, the more violent they probably are.

In actuality, that’s not the case—not in France, much less in the United States, Germany, Canada, China, Australia, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea or the Netherlands.

Funnily enough, there is a “slight downward shift in violence as video game consumption increases,” meaning that “countries where video games are popular also tend to be some of the world’s safest.”
