Remixing and Manipulating Memories in Remember Me

Releasing new would-be franchises late in a console cycle is risky business, but with Remember Me, Capcom’s willing to take a chance. Then again, based on the packed-out panel at New York Comic Con, it seems that consumers are willing to at least entertain the idea of rewarding Capcom for its bold behavior. And rightfully so, because Remember Me looks like it’s shaping up to be a unique foray into a dystopian future that, at first, doesn’t seem to be very dystopian at all.

Remember Me takes place in the year 2084, and the decades leading up to that date haven’t been kind to the Earth. Pollution, global warming, and various flashpoints of strife and civil unrest have injured the planet, but by 2084, things are on the mend. In Neo-Paris, the game’s French setting, things are approaching a new sense of normalcy buoyed by a remarkable technological trend.
