The Return of Call of Juarez
One of the reasons I’m excited about Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is that I’m completely ga-ga about the Wild West. I’m obsessed with John Ford classics like Stagecoach and The Searchers. I read clever Western lit like Cormac McCarthy and Larry McMurtry as well as trashy yarns by the likes of Louis L’Amour. I drive long distances to visit dusty old outposts of American-expansion history
I liked Activision’s gunslinging shooter Gun, even while others saw it as flat and predictable. I believe, honestly, that Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar’s best game to date. And yes, I was disappointed when Techland unwisely gave its last Call of Juarez game a modern Western-twist.
