The 11 Spookiest Classic Cartoons for Halloween

It’s been said that fear and laughter go hand and hand. Give somebody a good jolt and chances are they will immediately follow it with a laugh. Or perhaps sock you in the puss. But to be sure, laughter is the more reasonable response. It should come as no surprise really, that over the years cartoon animation has embraced all the trappings of ghost stories and horror tales and has had a grand time with them. When compiling this list, I was well aware there were many terrific cartoons to choose from. Even still, it was a difficult task selecting a mere 11, so I opted for the most part, to stick with some of the most beloved cartoon characters ever to grace the big or small screen. That said, I must note that this list will focus only on short subject toons, so those seeking the Great Pumpkin should look elsewhere. With that in mind, you should be able to have a good shriek… and a grand laugh as you treat yourself to some animation treats.
