Superman and Wonder Woman Are Doin' It

Mark the day in your calendars, boys and girls, because it’s the first day that who a comic book superhero is fucking became mainstream news.Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Superman and Wonder Woman are beginning a romantic relationship in the DCnU, and previewed the cover to DC’s Justice League #12, in which the two superheroes are smoochin’. Lest you think it’s some kind of stunt… well, it obviously is, but one that’s going to stick around for a while. From the EW article:The comic, which goes on sale Aug. 29, culminates months of flirty foreshadowing. Writer Geoff Johns hints that some event — possibly tragic — will impact every member of the Justice League, and cause Superman and Wonder Woman to seek solace in each other and move from super-powered colleagues to power couple. This is no one-issue stunt: “This is the new status quo,” says Johns, adding that the relationship will have a seismic impact on all the heroes and villains in the DC universe.In case you’ve forgotten (or never knew), Lois Lane is busy shacking up with some other guy since Crisis on Infinite Reboots, so there’s no super-cheating going on, at least.We’ll see how this goes. I mean, it could just be a Justice League thing, or it could spill over into Superman and WW’s individual comics. It may be more for Wonder Woman’s benefit that Superman. DC could go ahead and publish a comic of Supes and Wondie graphically fucking, negating thousands of erotic fan fic stories about the pair. There’s just no telling.
