Lol – Who knew that today would be so busy . . .

Of course on most sites, getting three entries in one day would basically mean the end of the site, but hey it’s a boom for us. I do wish we got more comments though – it is hard to know what you all like or don’t so we can continue or stop.

Unfortunately, I still have not gotten a chance to test out hte nook features I need to before writing the review. So mini review of Astro Boy the recent CG movie.

While it isn’t a Pixar flick quality wise, and isn’t any type of award contender, this was a decent kids flick. I honestly don’t know the origin story of the original Astro Boy so I can’t really say how it compares, but it is a decent story. The only real drawback was a couple of the voice actors. Why they picked two of the most tonally flat voices in the business, Nick Cage and Donald Southerland, to VA two of the main adult characters is beyond me. Southerland actually manages to make Cage’s performance look good. He at least got some emotion and inflection right. Overall this is probably a7/10 cybernetic replacement children. The Kid’s VAs were pretty good, the script and plot were decent and overall the kids had fun watching it. I liked it too, as long as Southerland’s character wasn’t on screen.
