Dark Souls Easy Mode Comments Were ‘Mistranslated’

Namco Bandai says comments about an easy mode coming to Dark Souls were “mistranslated” and that the current difficulty will be maintained. Earlier this week, Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki was quoted as saying “I am thinking about whether I should prepare another difficulty that everyone can complete or carefully send all gamers the messages behind our difficult games,” but Namco Bandai now tells Metro this is incorrect.

According to Namco Bandai, the correct quote should read “I am thinking about how to make everyone complete the game while maintaining the current difficulty and carefully send all gamers the messages behind it.” A spokesperson added that “this revision has been made in order to inform Miyazaki-san’s true intention and what has been originally posted had a mistake because of mistranslation.”
