A Super Mario Bros. Theory

(I found this online a while back and I thought I’d share it here.)

The worlds in Super Mario Bros. represent our transition from life to death. The coins you collect throughout the game signify the need for a consistent source of income, the mushrooms the need for sustenance.
Stars are indicative of a lot of the dangers in life, especially drugs, and how invincible they can make you feel.
The pitfalls are just that, The pitfalls of life, accidents you may unfortunately suffer.
The fact that the bushes are just recolorured clouds shows a link between the earth and the skies. A reference to the heavens, the final resting place of some religions. This is reinforced by the stairway at the end of each level, i.e. the “stairway to heaven”.
The goal of the game is to rescue the Princess, but for what purpose? The fact is you are trying to impregnate her, simply because many would argue that that is the meaning of life.
You weren’t going to the Mushroom Kingdom to save the Princess, you were going to pass your seed.
