Telltale’s new series will feature the Nerdist founder and Star Wars voice actor.

The cast of Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale Games’ new episodic series releasing this summer, will feature Chris Hardwick, Nerdist founder, and Sam Witwer, a voice actor in several Star Wars properties.
Hardwick and Witwer will play best friends Vaughn and Rhys, respectively, in the story-driven series from The Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us developer. Vaughn and Rhys are employees of Hyperion –– the mega corporation featured prominently in Gearbox Software’s Borderlands and Borderlands 2 –– and are exploring Pandora in search of another mysterious vault key.

Hardwick is a stand-up comedian, screenwriter, podcaster and founder of Nerdist. Witwer has played several prominent voiceover roles in Star Wars properties, most notably as Starkiller in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2, and as Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Tales from the Borderlands’ story will be told from two perspectives: that of Fiona, a con-artist, and that of Witwer’s Rhys; Telltale said that many of the events will switch between the two at pre-determined times a la Rashomon, the 1950 film that used the same plot device.
Telltale’s newest series is expected to release later this summer, preceded by a behind-closed-doors look at E3 next week. For continuing coverage of the event, stay tuned to IGN’s E3 Hub.
