According to a post on Shoryuken, Arc System Works will be adding a whopping $20,000 to the BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma prize pool at Evo 2014. In addition to the sizeable support the game’s developer is offering, its publisher, Aksys, will be chipping in another $10,000 – $5,000 of which will go directly to the first place winner.

Arc System Works isn’t the only fighting game developer to pour money into their game’s competitive scene, but this is one of the largest prize pool incentives any developer has ever offered, showing just how serious ArcSys is about attracting more top players to their game. Their other two big franchises, Guilty Gear and Persona 4 Arena, are both getting new games this year, and given that they share some gameplay DNA, it makes sense to draw attention to one in order to raise interest in the others.’);
