According to numerous sources close to the game’s production, Far Cry 4 is being directed by Alex Hutchinson, who previously served as creative director on Assassin’s Creed III. Prior to his time at Ubisoft, Hutchinson also worked on EA’s Army of Two, and Maxis’ Spore.
Though speculation swirled over the past few months, Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 4 earlier this week. Far Cry 4 will release on November 18 in North America and November 20 in Europe for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. It’s set in the Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan region ruled by “a despotic self-appointed king,” confirming an earlier rumor. Whether or not Drive composer Cliff Martinez is involved remains to be seen.
Ubisoft declined to comment on the matter of Hutchinson’s involvement. We’ll have much more on Far Cry 4 leading up to next month’s E3 expo.
