Saturday unpacking break = meme time!

First up is a new PSA Know Your Meme, about Hitler freaking out.

Next up is a new form of trolling. Trolling is generally saying something negative, or doing something funny in a negative way. Now we’ve talked about Rick Rolling before; it’s the art of taking a link and making it attractive to someone (like if you have a friend that likes comics, it would be “Check out the new Thor trailer here!”) and instead it takes you to a youtube video of Rick Astley’s never gonna give you up.

LOLs are funny, because they make you Laugh Out Loud. And so we have a new trending meme that seems to be shooting across the net like wildfire:

The original version is nothing more than a posting of a 1970’s performance of a vocalise song from a russian singer that is lip-synched. Poorly. Yet it is a trainwreck that you cannot stop watching.

Entitled “I am very glad, because I am finally returning back home,” it started wracking up the pageviews. The fact that in a chorus he’s singing LOLOLOL hasn’t hurt its meme status. It’s like he’s laughing at the viewer, to boot. Soon the derivatives spawned.
