Conan the Barbarian Just Got Re-Rebooted Back to 1982

From Deadline:

Universal Pictures has made a deal for The Legend Of Conan, an action film that will star Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of his signature roles as Robert E. Howard’s mythic barbarian. The deal brings Conan and Schwarzenegger back to Universal, which released the first film that launched Schwarzenegger’s movie career back in 1982. Universal has world rights on the film.

There are no plans for Momoa to return. Morgan said that in his mind, The Legend Oof Conan not only skips over that film, but also the 1984 sequel that Schwarzenegger starred in.
Well, all right then. I actually thought Jason Momoa was a terrific Conan, he just got stuck in a boring-ass movie, but I’m totally fine bringing Schwarzenegger back. Although I don’t really know what’s being gained by ignoring Conan the Destroyer. Sure, Conan ended on the throne in Barbarian, but I’m a nerd and even I’ve stopped losing sleep over the discrepancies between the end of Barbarian and the beginning of Destroyer. I’m not expecting them to hold a press conference declaring that all the Schwarzenegger Conan movies are one rich continuity or something, but I also don’t think they need to publicly deny the second movie exists, either. Thanks to everyone who sent in the tip.
